The third annual #GivingTuesday was held on December 2, 2014 and the results continue to be extremely positive.

Online giving for #GivingTuesday 2014 was up 36% compared to 2013. Blackbaud processed more than $26.1 million in online donations on #GivingTuesday 2014. This was up from the $19.2 million processed on #GivingTuesday in 2013.

There was a 15% increase in the number of nonprofit organizations that processed an online donation on #GivingTuesday 2014 compared to 2013. This growth continues to show the widening reach of the #GivingTuesday movement.

Online transaction volume grew 50% compared to 2013. The average online donation on #GivingTuesday 2014 was $128.30. This was slightly down from last year, but is higher than most industry averages.

Worth noting that Blackbaud found about 17% of online donation form views came from a mobile device for a sub-set of nonprofits. Some very interesting things continue to happen with donations on mobile devices that Blackbaud continues to research and monitor.

Blackbaud is the leading provider of online fundraising software and online donation processing, handling more than $3 billion annually in online fundraising. The #GivingTuesday analysis is based on over 4,300 nonprofit organizations that received at least one online donation on #GivingTuesday 2014. Since the inaugural #GivingTuesday in 2012, overall online giving is up 159%.
