Seven seems to be such a magical number. It appears in so many different contexts:
- Lucky 7
- The Seven Dwarfs
- 7th Heaven
- The 7 Year Itch
- 7 Deadly Sins
- 7 Wonders of the World
Today marks 7 years since I went live with Leading Edge Software Solutions, flipping the switch on the website and fervently praying that I wasn’t planning a private party. To this day, I remain grateful that I had clients waiting in the wings and that my phone continues to ring daily. After 7 years, I honestly believe that the party has only just begun 🙂
I’m pleased to report that I don’t have the 7 Year Itch. I still feel blessed every day to enjoy the privilege of helping my clients do their awesome work and get more from their Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge databases (and dollars!). It thrills me no end to know that I have little lambs sprinkled across the globe.
In spite of the fact that I’ve probably committed most of the 7 Deadly Sins, my clients remain loyal to me and supportive of my work. On any given day, I could probably be confused with any one of The Seven Dwarfs-well, except Bashful 🙂 Still, my friends and family continue to believe in my vision and dreams, which puts me in 7th Heaven!
In the grand scheme of things, the 7th anniversary of Leading Edge is no 7th Wonder, but in my little world, it’s no small wonder. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for the role you have played over the last 7 years. I’m humbled-don’t laugh, I really am humbled. It has always been-and remains-my goal to be a worthy steward of the time, money, and/or faith you’ve invested in my little dream. I’ve made every effort to be faithful to that goal every day.
So, year 7 is already poised to be the luckiest ever. As we speak, I’m preparing for my first ever presentation at the Blackbaud Conference in Nashville. This is an opportunity I’ve yearned for since my early days at The Baud and was my number 1 goal for 2014. Plus, I’m already booking business for 2015.
